Meet Steve - Your Passionate Piano and Vocal Instructor
Steve is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, and music educator with a lifelong passion for inspiring students through music. He holds a BFA in Jazz Piano and Voice from Long Island University, where he graduated summa cum laude under the mentorship of renowned saxophonist Pete Yellin, and an MFA in Performance. During his studies, he shared the jazz big band piano chair under Grammy Award–winning arranger and composer Bob Belden and later created, composed, and performed an original one-man musical, which has since been developed into a full ensemble production.
With decades of teaching and performing experience, Steve brings a deep understanding of both classical and jazz traditions to his lessons. His piano students explore repertoire from Mozart to Bach to Haydn, while developing solid technique through Hanon and Pischna exercises and metronome work. For voice, Steve incorporates elements of Seth Riggs’ methodology, emphasizing healthy vocal development, precision, and expressive singing.
In addition to teaching, Steve performs as a pianist and vocalist in jazz trios, accompanies top vocalists, and has worked extensively as a piano bar entertainer. His lessons focus on building confidence, discipline, and joy in music-making, helping each student — from beginner to advanced — reach their full musical potential.
