Chieh is an American musician and piano teacher. She began playing the violin at the age of seven. When her mother noticed that Chieh could play on the strings songs that she sang, her mother started Chieh with piano lessons. Later as a young adult, Chieh learned to play the guitar, saxonphone, double bass, and drums. She enjoys all genres of music - classical, blues, jazz, pop, etc. Her bands have opened for such artists as Beck, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, Evan Dando of the Lemonheads, and Blonde Redhead. Chieh graduated from Pace University with a Master's of Science in Teaching degree, earning an Exemplary Scholarly Achievement Award. She is passionate about teaching music and seeing her students thrive and blossom as musicians, and most of all, have fun!
