Sarajean (SJ for shot) is a passionate vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter who loves helping students discover their voice, their sound, and their confidence. A classically trained soprano with experience in rock and musical theater, SJ brings versatility and creativity into every lesson. She has been playing guitar for over eight years, performing on both acoustic and electric guitar across genres ranging from rock to folk.
Having learned guitar later in life herself, SJ deeply understands what it’s like to start something new as an adult and brings patience, encouragement, and relatability to her teaching. She works with students of all ages and experience levels, creating a welcoming environment where growth feels achievable and exciting.
SJ’s teaching style is highly personalized. Each student receives a customized lesson plan built around their goals, interests, and experience level. Lessons balance fun, student-chosen material with strong foundations in music theory and healthy technique for both voice and guitar.
Above all, SJ believes learning music should be joyful, empowering, and motivating. She loves guiding students as they build skills, express themselves creatively, and reach goals they may not have thought possible.
