Sue began studying classical piano at age seven. She has a degree from Oberlin College, a Master’s in Education from Hunter College, and also studied at Berklee College of Music. A New Jersey certified teacher of Music and Elementary grades, Sue has worked in education for several decades. She’s often found herself in unconventional teaching settings - resulting in lots of experience creating lessons from scratch, based on students’ needs. 

With a strong foundation in classical piano, Sue recently shifted her focus to jazz, blues, and composing and arranging music (though she still loves classical). 

Sue believes the key to sticking with any instrument is tapping into the joy of making music. Her goal is to give students the tools they need to play the music they love. Sue’s warm, cheerful demeanor makes her a good fit for all ages.
