Steve is a pianist, vocalist, multimedia artist, writer and educator who began his musical caareer at five years old with accordian and piano lessons and had his first professional job as a musician at the age of twelve. The home of Steve's upbringing was constantly filled with music, as his father and sister also played piano and accordian, and everyone listened to music constantly. Steve later went on to graduate Summa cum Laude from Long Island University, receiving a Bachleor of Arts degree in jazz piano and voice. Steve also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in New Media and Performance from Long Island University.
Steve has taught both privately and in the public school system for many years. Steve believes that no age is really too young or too old to begin studying music. It can start early at home with the family informally. Formal lessons, Steve finds, begin effecitvely at five years of age, for either voice or piano, and can also start and continue into the student's eighties or beyond! Steve believes that music is a unifying and healing force in society and is a powerful means of personal expression. Whether it is a hobby or a career, there is no substitute for musical education - It always stays with you, and in Steve's case, gave him a life and experience around the world.
